Are you thirsty?

I was reading Beauty for Ashes today by Joyce Meyer and I had a revelation. John 7:37 says, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!". Jesus has everything that we need but we have to receive it. For example, if you are thirsty and ask some one for a glass of water and you just stand there and hold the glass you will never quench your thirst. It is not until you drink the water that you are no longer thirsty. So, when we are thirsty for Jesus (for His love, joy, comfort, peace, forgiveness or guidance) we need to ask and receive. There is a responsibility on our part as well. Joyce says that, "If you ask and then receive then your joy will be full". Jesus has already done His part and we must do ours as followers.
